Level 1B Course Description
The participants will learn to diagnose the muscle-based deficits in Jaw-Lips-Tongue structure and functioning, using the OPT Treatment Hierarchies learned in OPT Level 1A workshop. Evaluation of oral functional activities in Respiration, Phonation, Resonance and Articulation will be based on the therapeutic techniques learned in OPT Level 1A workshop. Participants will be guided to write a comprehensive Oral Placement/ Feeding/ Speech Program Plan.
Real case assessment video clips will be used to illustrate Oral Placement Therapy evaluation & treatment activities.
Level 1B Learning Outcomes
You will be able to:
1. Identify, Oral Placement, Sensory, Feeding and/or Speech Deficits in clients;
2. Assess Oral Placement deficits in Jaw-Lip-Tongue functions;
3. Design a step-by-step Program Plan based on the clients’ Oral Placement/ Feeding/ Speech Evaluation;
4. Apply Oral Placement strategies, when appropriate, with infant, preschool, and school-aged children and students with muscle-based feeding and/or speech clarity issues.
* Participants must have fulfilled OPT Level 1A certification to be able to enter this OPT Level 1B workshop (proof of certification might be requested when necessary)
